Hearing Aids
If you suspect that you (or a loved one) has a hearing problem, it can often be a difficult time trying to decide what to do next. National Hearing Services are here to help, we will diagnose the hearing loss problem and after completion of the hearing tests we can then advise as to your next course of action such as hearing aids.
What should you do now?
The first step is to take a simple hearing test over the telephone, provided by the RNID (The Royal National Institute for Deaf People). This is a new service that the RNID has recently launched to help promote hearing health and hearing aids in the UK.

STEP 2
Telephone Hearing Test Results
At the end of the hearing test you will have heard one of three results:
If you hear either of these two messages:
"Your hearing is below normal. This is very common. We recommend that you discuss it with your GP next time you visit the surgery."
"Your hearing is well below normal and you're likely to benefit from a hearing aid. Please see your local GP and ask to be referred to an audiologist for a full hearing assessment."
Then you will need an independent hearing test. National Hearing Services can provide a free indepth hearing test by a qualified Hearing Aid Audiologist, who will also be able to give you advice about how to improve your hearing and the best advice on digital hearing aids available to you.
If you hear this: "Your hearing is within the normal range. If, in future, you notice any problems with your hearing, please see your local GP. Thank you for taking part." then you don't need to act now.
